To qualify for admission into a Doctoral degree programme, an applicant shall be:

• A holder of a relevant Master’s degree of TU-K or of another university or institution recognized by Senate;

OR

• A candidate enrolled for a Master’s Degree in TU-K for at least one year who has, to the satisfaction of the Senate, shown exceptional progress in the research work to merit upgrading;

OR

• An applicant shall be required to fulfil further requirements as maybe stipulated by respective department, school and/or faculty and approved by Senate with regard to the field of study;

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Entrepreneurship

To qualify for admission into a Doctoral degree programme, an applicant shall be:

• A holder of a relevant Master’s degree of TU-K or of another university or institution recognized by Senate;

OR

EITHER A holder of at least an upper second honours Bachelor’s degree of TU-K; or equivalent from another university recognized by Senate;
OR A holder of a lower second class honours Bachelor’s degree of TU-K, or equivalent from another university recognized by Senate with at least one (1) year relevant experience;
OR A holder of a pass Bachelor’s degree and postgraduate diploma or equivalent from TU-K or another university recognized by Senate;
OR A candidate who has obtained a degree or an equivalent qualification from other institutions recognized by Postgraduate Studies Committee (PSC) and Senate as of comparable academic status.

2 Academic Years

Master of Science in Entrepreneurship (MSC.ENT)

To qualify for admission into the Master’s degree programme, a candidate shall be:
EITHER A holder of at least an upper second honours Bachelor’s degree of TU-K; or equivalent from another university recognized by Senate;
OR A holder of a lower second class honours Bachelor’s degree of TU-K, or equivalent from another university recognized by Senate with at least one (1) year relevant experience;
OR A holder of a pass Bachelor’s degree and postgraduate diploma or equivalent from TU-K or another university recognized by Senate;
OR A candidate who has obtained a degree or an equivalent qualification from other institutions recognized by Postgraduate Studies Committee (PSC) and Senate as of comparable academic status.

Bachelor of Technology in Office Administration and Technology (BTech. OAT)

EITHER (i) Be a holder of Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (or equivalent examination) certificate with a minimum aggregate of C+;
OR (ii) Be a holder of Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education (or equivalent examination) certificate with a minimum of two principal passes and one subsidiary pass;
OR (iii) Be a holder of a diploma or professional certificate in a relevant discipline from an institution recognized by the Senate of the University;
OR (iv) Be a holder of any other qualification accepted by the Senate of the University as equivalent to any of the above.
Candidates who hold any of the qualifications (iii) or (iv) above may, at the discretion of the Senate, be exempted from some courses.

Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS)

Specializations;

• Human Resource Management

EITHER Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) an average grade of C- (minus) or equivalent;
OR Certificate in Business Management courses of the Kenya Polytechnic University College or equivalent;
OR Advanced Certificate in Business Management course of the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) or an equivalent.
OR Advanced Certificate in Business Management course of the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) or an equivalent.
OR Craft Certificate in Business Management Courses (KNEC) or an equivalent.

Diploma in Technology Office Administration and Management (DipTech OAM)

Options

• Legal Secretarial
• Medical Secretarial
• Business Secretarial
• Foreign Language Secretarial

EITHER Holder of Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), with at least and average grade of C-(Minus);
OR Candidates with Certificate in Secretarial Studies from The Kenya Polytechnic University College, Technical Training Institutes (TTI’s) or from any other recognized institution;
OR Candidates with Single and Group Certificate, Stage II (KNEC) in Typewriting, Shorthand, Office Practice, Business English and Commerce;
OR Candidates with Craft Certificates in Business Courses (KNEC) or an equivalent qualification at the craft level from the Technical Training Institutes (TTI’s) or from any other recognized institution.

Diploma in Entrepreneurship (DIP-ENT)

EITHER Holder of a Certificate in Entrepreneurship Development of the Technical University of Kenya;
OR Holder of a Craft Certificate in Trade Skills e.g. Mechanical, Electrical etc courses (KNEC) or equivalent;
OR A candidate who has obtained a certificate or an equivalent qualification from other institutions recognized by Senate as of comparable academic status;
OR Holder of Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), with at least and average grade of C-(Minus).
